Alison Kaye Fowler is an up-and-coming Welsh Contemporary Artist based in South West Wales.

Having successfully completed a three-year Fine Art Painting Degree in Howard Gardens, Cardiff, Alison is now exhibiting work throughout Pembrokeshire.

She has always been passionate about materials, constantly using a variety of different mediums to create interesting and exciting outcomes that may not always be completely controlled. Throughout University, her work was very much about her use of material rather than her choice of subject and this becomes apparent in her final Degree show where she created a series of small blocks, mounted ½ inch off the wall, on which she loosely sketched the lines and movements of a small potted primrose that she had made many studies from previously. Alison combined a mixture of materials in these drawings including acrylic paint, varnish, wood dye, glue and charcoal to create 250 completely individual paintings with some extremely interesting outcomes.

Having moved back to Pembrokeshire after her studies, Alison is now exploring the beautiful coastlines of West Wales, creating highly textured and evocative Seascapes.
